“What we talk about when we talk about____” is a moving image online exhibition featuring 25 digital artists. Under this title format, we embrace the uncertainty of life while devoting ourselves to self-creation, self-production, and sole embodiment, extending to every bit of the quotidian.
“What we talk about when we talk about____” is a moving image online exhibition featuring 25 digital artists. Under this title format, we embrace the uncertainty of life while devoting ourselves to self-creation, self-production, and sole embodiment, extending to every bit of the quotidian. As the title of the exhibition is like a fill-in-the-blank problem, which needs to be fulfilled by these artists together, it also invites the audience to participate in the process. Moreover, due to the site-specificity of online space, digitalised artworks can be contemplated, experimented with, and navigated more freely for the viewers. We intend to create an unlimited place so that the audience can enter or exit the interface at any time, rather than be trapped in physical places.
The exhibition is co-curated by three curators. It is divided into three thematic chapters, “Iteration and Disruption”, “The surreal life” and “Odyssey”. From illusion to iteration and disruption, then through a self-discovery voyage tracing back to the start, the continuity and the encircling ring refer both to the mystery and the inevitable of our own existence. Say no to cliché, banalities and platitudes. A word from the wise: life is like a box of chocolate. You never know what you’re going to get.
